I felt our service went far above and beyond what would be expected.  We had reserved a limo and driver from Patrick’s for the morning of September 26, to carry us from our river cruise that terminated in Basel to the Basel Airport, where we needed to rent a car.  A complication, and the reason we needed to go to the Airport, was that our travels would take us to southern France. So, to avoid high repatriation fees, we needed to rent a French-licensed car on the French side of the dual-country airport. We had not done this before and had no idea how difficult the crossing from the Swiss to the French side of the border would be, and this led to some anxiety on our part.

We had asked Patrick’s to pick us up at 9:00 a.m.  Our driver appeared, driving a clean and elegant Mercedes, promptly at 8:55.  He immediately commandeered our bags, loading them into the trunk, and carried my wife and I safely and easily to the Airport.  On the drive, he was chatty, friendly, and informative, and was fluent in English. Our drive was otherwise uneventful, but it was after we arrived at the airport that our driver truly went above and beyond.

We had expected to simply be dropped off at the airport, perhaps at best with some general directions to find the proper rental car desk.  Instead, our driver parked, loaded our luggage onto a luggage cart, and proceeded to escort us through the airport, pushing our luggage cart all the way, and taking us all the way to the rental counter!  This involved at least fifteen minutes of his time, and included two necessary elevator rides (one up a story, and one down) to get us from the Swiss to the French side of the airport. I cannot emphasize enough how much our driver’s help reduced our anxiety, and made the start of our day in Switzerland a stress-free and enjoyable day.

We had chosen Patrick’s service simply because it was the least expensive service of this kind we had found in Basel.  The level of service they provided truly exceeded our expectations.  Thank you Patrick, and a special thank you to your brother, whom I understand was our driver that morning.  You made our day!
